The New York Racing Association is not in its best moment mainly due to financial problems. The three racetracks run by the Association, Aqueduct, Saratoga and Belmont, have been fighting to balance the books for months because of the dramatic profit decrease, which ended with a state loan.

Horse of the Year in 2009 Rachel Alexandra arrived at Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs this week where she is expected to make her next start during the horse racing season that will start on 23rd July. The four-year-old filly spent the spring at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky, as decided by her trainer.

On father’s day morning trainer Todd Pletcher has a busy time at Belmont Park with stable stars Quality Road and Super Saver running half-mile breezes. While Kentucky Derby winner Super Saver went four furlongs in 50.66, Quality Road covered the same distance easily in 50.26. This was the first move for Quality Road since the Memorial’s Day Metropolitan Handicap.

The Oak Tree Racing Association and Canadian millionaire Frank Stronach reached an agreement this week that allows the Association to run its fall meeting at Santa Anita Park for one final year. Oak tree and Stronach appeared before the California Horse Racing Board to solve the conflict between them.
