Frankie Dettori, the Italian jockey, was booked to ride Linda’s Lad in the Vodafone Derby at Epsom on Saturday. "Linda's Lad is a consistent horse and Frankie Dettori definitely rides", said trainer Andre Fabre.

According to Fabre, the horse is to complete his training for the Classic in France. They will stay in Chantilly and travel to Epsom on Friday. "Mr Fabre doesn't tend to work his Derby runners on the course and so Linda's Lad will have a gallop at home”, said racing manager Herve Barjot.

Mr. Barjot also said that Sean Mulryan, the colt’s owner, is delighted that Dettori was free to ride the horse and the first time he will sit on it will be in the paddock at Epsom. As for Linda’s Lad performance, Barjot explained: "If we get a dry week and it becomes good that will be fine but if its soft it will be even better for our horse."
